Moree Plains Gallery: Grassy Woodlands- Carolyn Young

Carolyn Young lives in Wamboin, in the hills norh of Canberra. She is a Phd Candidate in Visual Art at the Australian National University and holds and honours degree in Natural Recourses from the University of New England. Her Artwork examines the interface between art, science and environmental management. For several years Young has documented grassy woodlands in NSW & Victoria. She uses a repetitive still life structure to highlight the change in plant diversity as land management strategies evlove. Her art works are beautiful & poignant, urging viewers to reflect on the past, present & future of these ecosystems.
